Caring Fathers Counselling: A Path to Healing Together
Caring Fathers is a specialized program that helps fathers improve their relationships with their children and develop parenting skills. Each participant attends an individual information session before attending the 8-session program. For clients who do not need to complete the entire counselling program, single session therapy (SST) is available. The cost is $150 per session, and more sessions can be arranged as needed. Please note, this is not the same as the 17-week Caring Dads’ Program.
The Report of Completion is only issued once fees are paid in full.
How Caring Fathers Counselling Works
Program Overview
The Caring Fathers’ Program/ Caring Parenting Program consists of eight (8) individual psychological counselling sessions designed to help fathers/dads develop better parenting skills.
During these sessions, the client will explore different parenting styles, ways to build a more caring relationship with their child/teenager, and effective ways to deal with conflict. Each session is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, and the program usually lasts 2 to 3 months. Some of these sessions may also be completed over the telephone.
The program can also be completed within a shorter time period. It meets the requirements of the Ontario Court System.
